Insurance

Do you accept insurance?

Renew Therapy and Wellness is not paneled or contracted with any insurance company. I can provide superbills, which are insurance-approved receipts for sessions.  You can submit those to your insurance for reimbursement. This means you would pay for each session and then negotiate reimbursement with your insurance company.

Why don't you accept insurance?

Therapy is an invaluable investment in your well-being. Partnering with insurance companies can significantly restrict the therapy process. Most insurance companies require a formal diagnosis, limit the number of sessions per year, and often become too involved in the treatment process.

Good Faith Estimate

As part of the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected costs of your therapy services. This estimate provides transparency around the financial commitment involved in your care, ensuring there are no unexpected charges.

What is a good faith estimate?

A Good Faith Estimate is a document provided to uninsured or self-pay clients that outlines the anticipated costs for your therapy sessions. It is intended to give you a clear understanding of your investment in therapy before beginning treatment.

FAQs

A:  I don’t provide counseling for children or couples.

Do you see children or couples?

How long will therapy last?

A: Every client is going through a unique situation, so the length of treatment will vary. Most people attend therapy for an average of 8-20 sessions, but it is always up to you how long you want to meet. Some clients will get what they need in 4-5 sessions, whereas others attend therapy for six months to a year. Many factors will help determine the length of therapy, including the complexity of the issue, how much growth and change you want to make, how deeply you would like to explore the issue and your commitment to making and maintaining positive changes. I will work with you to determine the appropriate schedule for therapy.

What happens during the first session?

A: The initial session is the time for you to start to share your story, talk about your goals and what you would like to change. Another important aspect of the first session is deciding if we are a good fit. Do I seem like someone you can trust? We are establishing a relationship that will become the foundation for working together. You will begin to figure out some goals; I will begin to figure out how to help you get there.

What to Expect During Therapy

A: Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and understanding what to expect can make it less daunting. Once you have made a decision to see a therapist, you still might be apprehensive about the process. Many people feel nervous before their first appointment. Therapy is a shared journey.  And, although you and I will travel together, it is ultimately your journey, and you will make your own decisions. I do not have answers to all your concerns, but I do have the ability to listen carefully and ask thoughtful questions that will help shape the direction of your healing journey.  You can expect to be respected. You can expect that I will offer opinions and suggestions, but I will not tell you what to do.

How often will we meet?

A: To begin with, we will meet once a week. I find it important to gain some momentum by meeting weekly, or progress can stall out. Once some or all of your goals are met, meeting less often will make sense.

 Who do you work with?

A: I provide counseling for adults who reside in Texas. My expertise is in trauma,. anxiety and stress, codependency and people-pleasing, adult children of alcoholics, self-worth, sexual assault + abuse, life transitions, and perfectionism.

What is your cancellation policy?

A: I require 24 hours notice of cancellation or you will need to pay for the appointment. An occasional exception may be made in the case of an emergency. It’s important that we meet consistently in order to make progress.
