Hi! I'm Lisa
I'm friendly, down-to-earth, and approachable. People often describe me as having an enthusiastic yet warm presence, which makes it easy to open up to just about anything—a quality that fits well with being a therapist.

During sessions, my conversational style will make you feel like we’ve known each other for a while. I’ll ask about what's been happening in your life and how you feel about it. I’m also not afraid to dive into tough or uncomfortable topics, and I’ll be honest with you when I see you holding yourself back.

When you work with me, we’ll lay out the "puzzle pieces" of your life, take a step back, and look at the bigger picture together. We'll pinpoint what’s holding you back and create a plan to work through it. Piece by piece, I’ll support you in putting everything back together to form the life you’ve always envisioned.
A little about me..
I am passionate about walking alongside you, helping you find healing, and pursuing growth. Trauma survivors are my specialty, and my experience as an early childhood teacher, advocate, and counselor has helped shape me into an intentional professional therapist. I understand what it is like to get triggered by something and react in a way you don't like. That is called a trauma response. Together, you will process your trauma and find healing so that life won't be as stressful for you.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a master's degree in marriage and family counseling from Lamar University and a bachelor's degree in Human Development and Child Studies from Auburn University. Originally, I am from Georgia and relocated to Texas in 2002, where I embarked on a twelve-year career in elementary education before transitioning into counseling.

I have extensive experience working with trauma survivors, having served as a counselor and crisis advocate at The Turning Point, a non-profit sexual violence center in Plano, TX. In my current practice, I work closely with first responder spouses, offering a compassionate and informed approach to their unique needs.

I am trained in EMDR, and actively pursing certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through EMDRI-A. I am informed in Internal Family Systems (IFS), blending these evidence-based approaches to help my clients heal and thrive.
